Thanksgiving at the Wright House

Thanksgiving this year has been so amazing! We got to have it at our house this year and it was so nice to have all of our family over.  We missed our cousin and one of my best friends Aimee.  We have been together every single Thanksgiving and this year she is in Florida.  We missed you so much Aimee and can't wait to have you back soon!!

Here is how our Thanksgiving went!

Love having everyone over for the Holidays! Such a special time of year and I'm so grateful for my family.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Christmas in a Cup

Mike and I are still sick (sadly) and I passed it on to my mom...a bug is definitely going around campus.  I needed some relief for my throat and Mike did as well.  If you follow our Little Cup of Heaven blog, you know how much we love Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks.  It really does taste like Christmas in a cup and it tastes so good!

Notice, they actually spelled my name right.

I found the recipe for this tasty drink on Pinterest and we will DEFINITELY be trying it out.  If you beat us to it, let us know how it tastes!

The Holidays Came Early

Well Thanksgiving is closely approaching and we already have a head start in this household.  But with the holidays arriving, another gift comes along, it is the gift "sickness".  For this past week I have gone to work talking for 4 hours straight and giving some people a bit of comic relief before their test with having no voice, so nice to see smiles in the testing center.  :)
Friday, after work Mike and I went over to his house to work on a surprise for Mikes parents.  His older brother Stan and his wife Jessica decided to remodel and do their kitchen, off to work we went! I organized the dishes and everything while Mike and Stan sanded.  Then we got to paint.  They worked so hard the next to days finishing up before Libby and Phil (Mikes parents) got home from Ohio.  Here is their end product, it is amazing!

Saturday after work, Michael picked me up and we went over to my house to help my family put up some decorations.  We LOVE Christmas!!! We love the hot chocolate, the hallmark Christmas movies, Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas music, everything...LITERALLY.  Blasting One Direction, Spaghetti, and Hot Chocolate, nothing better.

Today we had an early thanksgiving at my Aunt Roma's house.  My childhood best friend Aimee, has been working at Disney world since July and she surprised all of us and came home for a visit.  She won't be here for thanksgiving so we decided to get together today.   Going to miss you Aimee-Doo! See you in 2 months!!

The weather has been getting much cooler in Utah.  Storms have been coming our way and it is so beautiful!

I love this time of year and being able to spend it with family and friends.  Can't wait for Thanksgiving this week!! We all have so much to be grateful for.

Little Bit of Wonderful

This weekend has been AMAZING!  This weekend it has been BYU Dancesport Championships.  With a new dress, our wonderful coaches and our parents there to cheer us on, it was a successful weekend placing 4th in Amateur Latin!!

It was definitely a good weekend a great learning experience for Michael and I.

Our Latin coaches: Brent Keck and Shala Hanks.  We are so grateful for these guys!!

Today was a day filled with working and...my wonderful dads birthday!!! One of the many things that I love about our family is my parents have taught us since we were young kids that birthdays are such an important day.  And what better way to spend a special day than with a special dad.

I love my dad more than any guy in the entire world.   He is amazing and is so good with taking car of 6 women in one household (7 including Vannah).  He is so patient, hard working, and always pushing us girls to do our best and to never settle for less than we deserve. I know every kid says this about their parents but it is as true as ever, I couldn't have been blessed with a better dad than my own.  Love you Dad xoxo.

A tradition in the "Wright" Family is we always go see a movie on our birthday. Always.  Tonight as we came out of the movie, we had a bit of a winter wonderland outside of the Theater.

A perfect way to end the night spent with family.  Hope the snow keeps on coming!!

Have a wonderful night!

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Well, so much has been going on lately.  Halloween has already passed, and it is NOVEMBER. I can't believe it is already here!! My mouth has never felt better since having my wisdom teeth pulled, school has only a month left (which is utterly terrifying) and birthdays in my family are coming up, the holidays, there is so much to be excited about!!

Mike and I had our first in state comp together this last weekend.  Here is some of our dancing! We really enjoyed ourselves :)

It was so wonderful to have my family come and watch us dance as well as Michael's.  There is nothing better then when you are dead tired and you are doing the Jive in the final round and you look up and see your mom and siblings cheering you on.    Looking forward to this weekend at the BYU November Dancesport Competition.  For those of you who have never been to a competition, this is a good one!! We are dancing Friday night.  We had a great lesson with Brent Keck yesterday and looking forward to our lesson with Shala Hanks tonight! Love our coaches :)  My new dress for the competition is done and my sweet mom spent time out of her busy week to stone it.  Wow...all I'm gonna say is it looks awesome!! (Pictures to come soon).

As the entire United States knows, yesterday was election day.  I was driving with my dad to school and with my busy schedule I was planning on not being able to vote since I have no vehicle and I'm constantly going all day long.  My dad knew that this was a good experience that I needed so we get to UVU and turn around to go back home so I can vote.
I thought I had registered all the way but...turns out I didn't so I got to vote the old fashion way.  Needless to say, I got my sticker, don't worry :)

I'm disappointed with how the election turned out but on the bright side, it will give me a lot right about for my Government paper.  So just in case you hadn't guessed I was for Team Romney. I am unaffiliated with which political party I am under because nobody is perfect and my opinion changes (quite frequently) .  I am hoping that Obama can lead our Country out of these hard time to build us as a nation and create the jobs and support the United States needs.

School is ridiculous as always.  The hardest part is my math 1050 class which might I add has a 46% FAIL rate at UVU.  That is certainly comforting. But, although my chances of being outside of the percentage are incredibly slim, still trying to get through.

Starting to take more photos again which is making me even more excited to get on with my major!!

Michael got to have his turn for a shot.  I'm really wanting to get pictures of my sisters up in the canyon before all of the fall leaves get yucky and gross and before the snow starts falling...

That is what is new as of lately.  Hope everyone is having a great middle of their week!!
