Slap in the face

This last weekend, I had to opportunity to watch the BYU DANCESPORT at the Marriott Center in Provo.  This was my first year not competing since I began doing ballroom.  I thought that my dancing career would be over but as soon as I walked into the arena...I knew how much I needed to go back and how much I had missed it.

This is my wonderful and beautiful sister Liesl B.  She competed Latin and Smooth and did such a great job!! One bonus was I actually got to watch her for once. :)

I reconnected with my dancer friends that I hadn't seen hardly at all this year since I was not competing and I had missed them so much as well.

Something that I love most about Nationals is the music booming through the speakers.  Just hearing the music made me want to hurry and get out there and dance!! It really was a slap in the face and a reality check of, "Giselle, why on earth did you think that you were done?" Well, my conscious let me know real quick. There is a rush that you get from being on stage that you can't really get anywhere else.  Putting in all of the time, money, and your heart into what you are doing to create an emotional connection to your audience.  I miss the blood, sweat, and tears LITERALLY, and at the end of the year going to nationals and putting your all onto the dance floor.

So I'm on the hunt for a dance partner to make it all happen again.

Today has been such a wonderful day!!

You know when you have those days where you wake up and feel completely refreshed and that life doesn't get better than what you're living right now? Today was beyond better than that.  You'd think going to school at 7am would completely throw me at a curve ball early in the morning, not on a day like today.  My friends and I had the best talks and laughs, I think it was also the fact that the sun started to peak through after a stormy day yesterday.

My friends had so many nice things to say to me today, not that they always don't because in fact they do but today they were just things that made my mood boost by 10x's.  I had so many good laughs with my girlfriends and guy friends to, but everybody was a little sweeter, a little more patient, and just a little kinder.
The wonderful Trev Dev, and Ty make us BEAM as soon as we see them.  They are hilarious!! Nothing like hanging out with my Broskies.  They were trying to study but Allison and I had some issues being a distraction...Trevor suggested they should move location, but lets be honest, why would they want to when we were having the grandest time!

Allison and I get a closer friendship every. single. day.  We tell each other our secrets and play challenge games that only the two of us (plus the lovely Alicia) know about.  We went on our first adventure today.  Purchasing make-up.  We are all ballroom dancers and Nationals is going on right now so we went to go purchase the goods.  My sister Liesl is also competing and I am so excited to watch! Photo's will definitely be uploaded after this great endeavor that we are about to experience.  This is sadly my first year not competing in 6 years but I get to enjoy and cheer on my friends and family!

I am excited as well because I am finally going to start taking photos again! Photography is a passion of mine and my dear friend Allison and I had a discussion on where we are headed in life and where we see ourselves in 10 years, where we will be and who we want to be.  She has the most beautiful future planned for herself!

Allison is a Utah foreigner.   Washington state is where this lady comes from and I have not met a single person like her, ever.  Like I tell her so often, I love the way she speaks in the fact that she makes you look at the beauty inside of the box instead of just the outer shell, sometimes it makes my brain hurt that is how intelligent she is.

A quote that I seriously defines her is, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I like that way and perspective of life.

My BEST friends that live outside the state: Kelsey and Sierra
and I are starting something great! Journals are a blessing and we decided that we are going to make millions by passing a journal back and forth across the country to each other (instead of the classic jeans story).  Well Sierra got our hopes up on making bank but I have an idea that people aren't so interested in reading book(s) on the lives of 3 college girls who practically have the same life story and relations to each other, but I may be completely wrong...we'll see. :)

My life just keeps getting better
                                                         and better
                                                                              and even better.

I love school, I love my family, I love my friends, I love being Mormon, I love life.

All because of the rays

A exceedingly large amount of sunshine rays came through Utah today. I soaked up the sun. (Sheryl Crow instantly popped into my mind, hm..)

It's amazing what sun does to your mood.
Allison India and I had some fun with webcam during our little Chit-Chats.

Being the very talented lady that she is, she had probably a 'ZILLION' bracelets on her wrist that she made.  Literally a Zillion.  But, lucky for some of her Utah friends, she was so nice to make us one!

Feels like a friend bracelet sorority.  Joined the club.

We all have some of the most interesting discussions on words that we make up and at the end of the conversation today, we ended up creating the word "Flutter" but we made it not used in its original context. I am still unaware of what the official definition is in our terms.  I'll let Allison (Flutter) take care of that.

This is the official Tyler Wilson himself.  He has a style unlike anyone else.  He is often referred to as

These are the two Standard Broskies.  According to Ty.  Both of them are incredibly Ballroom dancers just as a by the way.

Today was so great to kick my feet back and relax.  I am having serious spring fever.  Sadly since we live in the National Bipolar weather state of America, we get snow tomorrow... If you want to see severe weather changes, pack your bags and move to Utah.

Where Spring is the new winter, and winter is the new spring.

Life is just too fabulous.

I absolutely love my dog.  I completely baby her and she is 54 years old (in dog years anyway) but I think she doesn't mind that I treat like her like a baby instead of an adult.

English homework.  What an adventure.  I thoroughly enjoy writing papers though so it isn't complete torture to me.  Although in this case, it was all about politics...ya not a huge fan.

Mitt Romney was my topic, so I guess it wasn't terrible.  Maybe I'll actually vote for once.

I live on the UTA transportation.  It is bearable when you get to people watch for over an hour.  People are very unique, especially at my University.  Completely enjoyable, well usually.

My beautiful sister Liesl and my HILARIOUS dad who failed to let me take a photo of him with getting some silly face in there.  Love you pops.

I love making pasta.  Ya, there isn't a whole lot to it, but it is definitely satisfying.  I'm thinking that I probably should start learning from my mom though.  But anyway, when late nights arise and I haven't eaten dinner, this is my K.I.S.S food:  Keep It Simple Stupid.  (That's actually a dance term I learned, but I guess it applys to my cooking as well).

And then there are the happy, laughing moments.

                  Definitely necessary.
